Transfering domain from wix to new site?

I tried to register on the wix forums, it said the administer turned off registration, or something. Anyway, if I purchase a premium on wix, and at some point i make a new site, can I disable the wix site, grab the domain and put it to the new site (not affiliated with wix)?
