Why do most Muslim nations punish homosexuals by death sentence?

Islam likes to kill people for a lot of trivial things, like asking too many questions, criticising allah or mohammad, leaving the religion, and trying to re-interpret any aspect of the religion (which they consider to be equal to leaving)
